Virginia Off-Road Trail Honors 2025
Each year, Virginia Off-Road celebrates the incredible people who make our off-road community stronger, safer, and more united. From trail leaders and cleanup volunteers to families exploring the great outdoors together, the Virginia Off-Road Trail Honors recognize those who live out the spirit of adventure and stewardship across the Commonwealth.
This isn’t just about rigs and trails—it’s about people. The ones who show up, help out, lend a hand on recovery day, and take the time to protect the very places we all love to explore. These annual awards are our way of saying thank you to those who go the extra mile
How It Works
The Trail Honors are open to everyone in the Virginia Off-Road community. Nominations are simple—just fill out a quick form and upload your photos or story. Once all submissions are in, we’ll open public voting so everyone can help choose the winners. After voting closes, winners will be announced online and featured on our social media, newsletter, and the Virginia Off-Road website.
The Goodies
very award winner will receive a custom VAOR award package mailed directly to them, including a badge for their rig.
Award Categories
The Categories include the following:
🏆 Best Off-Roader of the Year
For the individual whose rig, attitude, and commitment to the off-road lifestyle set the standard for all of us. Whether you’re tackling mountain passes or leading group rides, this award celebrates your passion for adventure.
🌲 Trail Steward of the Year
This award recognizes those who have gone above and beyond to care for Virginia’s trails—through cleanups, Adopt-A-Trail programs, and stewardship efforts that keep our public lands open and beautiful.
🎖 Veteran Off-Roader of the Year (Trail to Recovery Award)
For a veteran who has found strength, purpose, or connection through off-roading. This award honors the courage, leadership, and community impact of our veteran members.
💛 Volunteer of the Year
The heart of VAOR beats thanks to volunteers. This award goes to the person who continually shows up to help with events, education courses, and community outreach, embodying the true spirit of service.
🚙 Best Trail Rig Build
A celebration of creativity and craftsmanship. Whether your build is rugged, retro, or modern, this award recognizes the off-road rig that turns heads on the trail.
💨 Mud Master Award
Sometimes the dirtiest rigs are the happiest ones. Submit your muddiest trail photos for this fun and lighthearted category—proof that a little dirt never hurt.
🦶 Bigfoot’s Choice Award
Bigfoot himself picks this one (with some help from the VAOR team). It might be the most creative entry, the funniest story, or the wildest trail photo. Expect the unexpected!
📸 Trail Photo of the Year
Got an incredible shot from a VA trail? Submit it! The winning photo will be featured on the VAOR website and in next year’s calendar.

How to Participate
- Choose your category and upload your photos or story.
- Submit as many categories as you like—there’s no limit!
- Once the voting round begins, everyone will be able to view the finalists and cast their votes. Keep an eye on your email and our Facebook group for updates and announcements.
