Our Adopt-A-Trail program is getting a big upgrade for 2026 — and you can earn serious rewards for helping keep Virginia beautiful.
Head out on any Virginia trail, clean up the area, and send us your report with photo proof that you (or your club) completed the work.
Here’s how points are earned:
• 25 points for every full bag of trash collected
• 75 points for each heavy or hard item removed (tires, scrap metal, etc.)
🏆 2026 Prizes:
• 1st Place: $500
• 2nd Place: $250
• 3rd & 4th Place: $100 each
• 5th–10th Place: VAOR Prize Pack valued at $75

Adopt-a-Trail Program
Help us keep Virginia’s trails open, clean, and beautiful by joining our new Adopt-a-Trail Program! As an adopter, you’ll choose a trail to visit a few times a year to pick up trash, snap a few photos, and share your cleanup work in our VA Off-Road Facebook group.
It’s a simple way to make a big impact and show pride in your favorite off-road spots. Whether you’re solo or part of a crew, we’d love to have you involved.

How the Program Works
You can go whenever you want, we just ask that you let us know when you do and that you provide an image or two.
Ideally, if you are planning to wheel that particular trail, beon the lookout for trash and clean it as you go.
Nope, you don’t. Although we encourage people to become a member of the VAOffRoad.org, anyone with a typical four wheel drive system can ride along. Typical rigs can include Jeeps, Bronco’s, 4 Runners, Tacomas, Land Cruisers, Galdiators and Trucks with typical 4WD systems. We also encourage bikes to join us too.
Yes, the more you do, we will adjust the entry. That helps increase the numbe rof overall points you can get.
Just collect trash on the trail and fill out the form. We’ll get your mailing address and send you a badge for participating.
Sure. We all love out trails, but we also LOVE getting money. Between Jan 1st 2026 and December 31st, 2026, go clean the trails. When you do and fill out the form, we’ll put you on the leaderboard. The more trails you do, the more points you can get. You MUST show proof that you or your club/business went out and did the work.
1st place will recieve a check in the amount of $500.
2nd place will get a check for $250.
3rd and 4th place winners will get $100 each.
5th through 10th place will get a VAOR prize pack worth $50 that will include a few gifts.
